A free crochet tracker that reads your pattern

Yarn Diary turns a written crochet pattern into rounds you can tick off. Scan a printed pattern with your camera, drop in a PDF, or paste the text — it is parsed into parts and rounds, and every round is checked against the stitch count printed in the pattern, so misreads are caught before you crochet them.

It is free, with no account and no subscription. It runs entirely in your browser — patterns and photos never leave your device. If you want the same projects on your phone and your computer, sync goes through your own Google Drive — your projects never touch our servers.

How it works

1. Open yarndiary.com — nothing to install, though you can add it to your home screen and use it offline.
2. Create a project and scan or paste its pattern. Rounds, repeats like (sc, inc) x6, ranges like Rnds 4–9, and US or UK abbreviations are understood, and the stitch counts are verified.
3. Crochet. Tick rounds as you finish them, count stitches within a round, track multiple copies of a part (ears, legs…), add photos, and watch each part fill up.
